Scott Adams passed away, for those who don’t know him, he’s most famous for his comic strip “Dilbert”
Before his death he wrote a final message (I attach his letter at the end if you want to read it fully) and closed his letter with a two word advice I want to pick up:
Be useful
If there’s only one (business) advice I could give you, it’s this – be useful to people
It’s the only thing that matters
If you help others (in business and life) to make their lives better, your own life will become better as well
The problem? Most people violate this simple rule
They do and build stupid things with the sole intent to help themselves (becoming rich, famous or whatever worldly bullshit they are after), not others
Look at the bullshit apps people are releasing in this #buildinpublic and #indiehacker spaces online, look at the bullshit even corporates are releasing
Nobody asked them to do it, crap nobody needs, simply not useful.
That’s why they fail – in business, in life
If you don’t know what to do, start becoming useful
Scott Adams final message:

Rest in peace
